Assisting a patient in the recovery process to regain strength while hospitalized, helping a patient who has suffered a stroke to “re-learn” daily tasks in order to be self-sufficient, determining the food type/consistency that is safe for the patient to eat after a medical setback, helping a patient return to a sport or favorite physical activity: These are just a few examples of the duties performed by the Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists at College Medical Center.

Our mission is to assist our patients to restore function after an illness, injury, or surgery. We do this by providing care tailored specifically to each patient’s needs. Our goal is to return a patient to activities they were able to do prior to a medical or physical setback and achieve their specific goals.

Each patient who is referred to Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy receives a thorough evaluation by a licensed therapist. A treatment plan is implemented based upon findings from the evaluation, the patient’s goals, and any instruction from the referring Physician.

INPATIENT: Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services are provided for inpatients as ordered by a Physician. Our goal is to prepare the patient for discharge to their home or a facility for continued rehabilitation if appropriate.

OUTPATIENT: Physical Therapy services are provided as ordered by a Physician. We are an exercise-based clinic with attention to getting the patient “moving and active” in order to make functional gains, restore range of motion, and build strength and endurance.

Our 1-on-1 care both for Inpatients and Outpatients contributes to positive results for our patients to meet their individual goals and improve ability.
