Job Summary:
College Medical Center is searching for a per-diem Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will support pharmacy operations by preparing, distributing, and maintaining medications and IV products under the supervision of the pharmacist.
Medication Management: Prepares, fills, and delivers medications accurately and on time; refills and maintains Omnicell dispensing systems; processes medication credits and charges; manages stock rotation and restocking.
IV Preparation: Compounds sterile IV products while maintaining aseptic technique; performs accurate calculations; ensures proper labeling, sequencing, and documentation; coordinates with pharmacists for verification; maintains IV room cleanliness, logs, and temperature records.
Patient & Documentation Support: Enters and verifies patient demographics, allergies, and medication data; generates and maintains required reports and logs (MAR, IV, production, temperature, etc.); ensures accuracy in medication documentation.
Cassette Exchange & Delivery: Fills and delivers medication cassettes promptly, verifies computer entries, and adjusts billing as necessary.
Quality & Compliance: Adheres to safety, infection control, and quality improvement standards; performs inspections for outdates and floor stock accuracy; ensures compliance with departmental policies and continuous quality improvement (CQI) principles.
Shift Schedule:
Varied schedule. Changes as staffing needs change.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician licensure in the state of California and current CA Pharmacy Technician licensure
- Experience in unit dose drug distribution and computer entry preferred
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- At least 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
