Job Summary:

College Hospital Hawthorne is searching for a BHU – Human Resource Manage. The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of Human Resources for designated departments or facilities. Responsibilities include hiring and interviewing staff, employee relations, regulatory compliance, administering pay, benefits, leave, and enforcing facility policies and practices.

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates, collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Oversees the effective implementation of Human Resources reporting and record keeping systems maintaining compliance with all state, federal, accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Provides educational sessions to leaders regarding policies, procedures, legal ramifications, or other issues.
  • Understands labor and wage and hour laws, ensures compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Effectively provides input for the institution’s quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Implements and monitors an ongoing mechanism for the verification of current licensure/certification of applicable personnel.
  • Effectively provides advice and counsel to hospital employees and managers on disciplinary policy and procedure interpretations, grievance administration, discrimination charge cases, and other employee labor matters in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Effectively functions as a liaison between employees and managerial staff in the investigation of causes of disputes and grievances; recommends corrective action as appropriate.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, termination, and investigations.
  • Works with HRD in assisting the administrative staff and department managers in establishing new job classifications or upgrading existing job classifications; ensures equity within classification and pay grades.

Qualifications:

  • Five years of healthcare human resources management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources with two years’ experience with increasing scope of responsibility.
  • Certificate or professional designation in Human Resource Management preferred.
  • Strong people skills, persuasiveness, detailed oriented, flexible, strong communication skills.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for College Hospital Hawthorne, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that College Hospital Hawthorne in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38.46 – $47.95 per hour
