Biography
Dr. Santos-Hernández is a physician currently completing his Psychiatry residency at College Medical Center in Long Beach, California. He is originally from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, and completed his medical education at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
During medical school, he demonstrated a strong interest in psychiatry. He presented the poster titled “Screening for Trauma Exposure in the Mental Health Setting: Findings with Puerto Rican Youth” at the MD Summer Research Program. He also gained clinical experience in mental health settings through training at the PHSU Wellness Center and Hospital de Psiquiatría Forense in Ponce.
Following medical school, Dr. Santos-Hernández completed a one-year internship at Hospital Menonita Guayama and subsequently worked for two years as a physician assistant with an internal medicine group (GIMS).
During his residency training, he has continued to expand his professional development by participating in national conferences, including HMP Global’s Psych Congress in San Diego, California, and the Annual National Psychopharmacology Update (NPA) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
