Dr. Dragos Turturica MD

Biography

I earned my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. What fascinates me most about psychiatry is the elusive nature of the human mind—it remains a puzzle, constantly evolving and defying complete understanding, yet demonstrating remarkable resilience and capacity for healing. Most recently, I participated in the Stuttering Treatment and Research Society (STARS) Advisory Board meeting, a unique professional conference with far-reaching implications for the designation, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of stuttering. I recently co-authored the article “Neuronal Lipidome in Schizophrenia and Metabolic Syndrome: Potential Interventions,” published in Elsevier’s Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry, Volume 145, March 2026, as well as the article “Understanding Stuttering – What a Parent Needs to Know,” published in Exceptional Parent Magazine, March 2026. Beyond my clinical work, I enjoy reading, photography, classical music, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These interests provide balance and inspiration, and I believe intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal well-being are essential foundations for both meaningful living and compassionate, thoughtful medical practice.
