Biography
Dr. Marie J. Chery is a PGY-3 psychiatry resident at College Medical Center in Long Beach, California. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at the Université d’État d’Haïti. With more than 15 years of clinical experience across international and U.S. healthcare systems, she brings a broad, compassionate, and culturally informed perspective to patient care.
Dr. Chery has a strong interest in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is committed to supporting the emotional and developmental needs of children, adolescents, and their families. She is particularly passionate about improving access to culturally responsive mental health care for young people from underserved and immigrant communities. She hopes to pursue fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and contribute to early intervention, family-centered care, and better long-term outcomes for youth.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chery enjoys spending time with family and friends, singing, traveling, and participating in community and faith-based activities. She speaks English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish, which enhances her ability to connect with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
