The BHU Nursing Supervisor is responsible and accountable for administrative duties of the nursing department and the hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective coordination across the department. This role serves as the administrative representative of the hospital in the absence of department directors or managers, supervising clinical staff, supporting patient care delivery, and addressing operational issues as they arise. The supervisor ensures compliance with hospital policies, promotes patient safety, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and supports the hospital’s mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Nursing required.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certification required upon hire.
- CPI certification required within 30 days of employment.
- 3–5 years of experience as an Administrative Supervisor in an acute BHU care setting strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee nursing operations and patient care across multiple units during assigned shifts.
- Serve as the administrative representative when leadership is not on site.
- Coordinate activities across hospital departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage staffing levels and provide clinical support and guidance to nursing staff.
- Triage admissions and assist with patient placement as needed.
- Address and escalate operational, clinical, or personnel issues appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct patient rounds and communicate issues to department leadership.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and incident notifications.

Pay Rate: $48.33 – $60.41 per hour
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for College Medical Center roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that College Medical Center in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
