The Vice President of the Revenue Cycle identifies and implements innovative ways to enhance and optimize the functioning of the Business Office; provides effective patient accounting and revenue cycle operations while working with leadership to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the revenue cycle.

Summary:

  • Effectively implements and maintains efficient processes and procedures to increase cash collections and decrease AR days, consistently achieving monthly cash goals.
  • Effectively manages and supervises the staff in the Business Office, ensuring efficient workflows and high performance
  • Effectively reviews the monthly AR days outstanding and conducts monthly meetings with appropriate staff to identify issues and areas for further follow up in order to maximize cash collections.
  • Effectively monitors and reports to the Vice President of Managed Care contractual issues and problematic payers to ensure proper and timely reimbursement.
  • Effectively partners with the Chief Financial Officer and other executives to ensure all regulatory changes affecting the revenue cycle are implemented timely.
  • Effectively partners with the Chief Financial Officer to accurately report contractual write-offs, cash collections, accounts receivable valuation and assist with the annual audit
  • Effectively provides ongoing guidance and feedback to executives and clinical leaders on key performance indicators and recommends actions to optimize revenues and eliminate barriers to collection.
  • Effectively develops and manages processes to audit and monitor charge capture, consistently reviewing charges that directly impact additional net revenue and cash collections.
  • Effectively participates in the Corporate Compliance meeting to ensure processes and procedures are aligned with the applicable laws and regulations specifically pertaining to the revenue cycle.
  • Effectively facilitates the ongoing learning/professional development of staff through training and increased responsibility.
  • Provides subordinates with the resources needed to attain results.
  • Keeps up to date on changes in patient accounting regulation and procedures.
  • Reviews time and attendance reports and counsels employees as needed.
  • Prepares required reports for government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ progressive experience in hospital billing & collections (preferably with both acute medical/surgical and psychiatric operations).
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and government billing requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in all Window’s based applications (i.e.- Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
