Job Summary:
The Overnight Med Surg Student Nurse assists licensed nursing staff in the care of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This position supports the mission of the hospital by providing distinctive and compassionate care to our patients.
Shift Schedule: Day Shift
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an LVN or RN program, or have graduated from one within the last 12 months.
- Completion of at least one semester of hands-on clinical training in a Registered Nursing or Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
- Ability to manage multiple activities on a busy patient care unit.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, with an understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Job Specifics:
- Obtain and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure) as assigned; report abnormal findings to a licensed nurse.
- Assist patients with morning care, bathing, and evening care.
- Change linens and ensure the patient environment, including over-bed and bedside tables, is neat and clean; report spills and stains as needed.
- Transport patients and equipment, gather supplies, and report any equipment in need of repair. Label equipment appropriately and monitor supply inventories.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, additional compensation may be available for CHLB/Glendora Hospital roles, such as shift differentials and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for this position is a reasonable estimate that ranges from the lowest to the highest pay CHLB/Glendora Hospital, in good faith, believes it might pay for this job based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
