Quality Representative – Per-Diem- TEMPORARY

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The primary function of the Quality Representative is to gain exposure to the interworking’s of a hospital quality department and its impact and relationships to other departments across the hospital. The representative, through various assignments, will establish rapport with other hospital departments, become educated on and conduct chart review relative to the representative’s skills and ability, review and analyze risk management reports to identify trends and aggregate data, conduct patient experience rounds, and may assist with performance improvement projects.

Other duties as a member of the Quality Management team include various administrative and clerical tasks that utilize knowledge of office systems and procedures, facility regulations and interdepartmental functions. These will include but are not limited to, assisting in collecting data and preparation of reports.


QUALIFICATIONS
·         Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
·         Must be able to manage multiple activities in a busy office environment.
·         Well organized and professional presence.
·         High School Diploma or equivalent.
·         Undergraduate degree preferred.
·         Prior exposure to the hospital environment preferred

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This temporary position is designed to provide exposure to and establish competency in the following
·         Utilizes the FOCUS PDCA methodology for performance improvement projects.
·         Reviews and aggregates risk management reports to assist in identifying trends.
·         Conducts patient experience (customer service) rounds
·         Conducts preliminary basic investigations into patient grievances
·         Reviews the electronic medical record and abstracts pertinent data as directed by quality leadership
·         Becomes familiar with the concepts of consent as it relates to clinical operations

Performs various administrative and clerical tasks that utilize knowledge of office systems and procedures, facility regulations and interdepartmental functions.
·         Assists quality leadership with Quality and/or Risk Management needs.

Demonstrates the ability to provide education
·         Identifies education needs and provides instruction on identified needs in an effective manner.
·         Is a Liaison for all staff relating to quality and risk policies and procedures

This position is a 6 month, temporary position. This position is approximately 20 hours a week, day shift, on a schedule of Wednesday and Thursday.

Rate: $24.00/hr.
