The Staffing Coordinator, in cooperation with Unit Directors, is responsible for all aspects of staffing including data collection and reporting.

This position supports the Mission of the Hospital by providing an environment that allows for provision of distinctive and compassionate care to our patients.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate preferred
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to operate computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Must be familiar with basic accounting principles.
  • Must be able to manage multiple activities in a busy office environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.


Job Specific Accountabilities

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide staffing support for the Nursing departments

  • Reviews daily staffing according to census, acuity and patient care needs.
  • Identifies staffing problems and initiates resolution.
  • Monitors staffing schedules for nursing department. Is resource for policies and procedures related to staffing and scheduling.
  • Consults with unit directors regarding staffing issues and resolution. Brings unresolved issues to the attention of the CNE.
  • Notifies director when scheduled staff lacks appropriate documentation/certification on file.
  • Conducts audits of Contract Services on an annual basis.
  • Verifies Contract Services invoices for accuracy against contract within 5 days of receiving invoice.
  • Maintains current licensure /certification files for contract personnel and assures all documents are current.
  • Prepares daily staffing sheets at least 5 days in advance
  • Maintains accurate records of sick calls, self-cancels, no shows/no calls and sends copy to director at month end.
  • Maintains up-to-date sick call log by unit.
  • Maintains supply inventory and orders as needed.
  • Prepares Registry and Monthly Nursing Hours as directed.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains acuity variance reports and sends to VP/CNE by the 5th of each month.
  • Maintains death log and follows through on all delayed pickups.

Salary: $25.00 per hour
